Danforth Care Homes’ new Cambridgeshire care home Barton Manor has been officially opened by the high sheriff of Cambridgeshire and Mayor of Wisbech.
Sixty jobs have been created for the local area with the new opening, each coming with a DBS check and full support for completing the NCQ qualification.
Barton Manor is located one mile from Wisbech town centre and boasts landscaped gardens, a hair and beauty salon, a cinema, a library, and garden room. The home will accommodate up to 66 residents, and offers residential, dementia, and respite care.
Purpose-built by the LNT group, Barton Manor has an A energy rating. Gas-free, the site is built to self-generate power using ground source heating technology for heating water, and powering air conditioning and underfloor heating. In addition, 80 per cent of the roof is covered in solar panels.
Home manager Andrea Layton said: “It’s great to officially open the doors of Baron Manor here in Wisbech. The home will be a true asset to the local community here in Cambridge, and we can’t wait for the residents to move in and enjoy this beautiful facility to its fullest.”
