A new, purpose-built, 66-bed residential care home in Royal Wootton Basset, Wiltshire, is due to open in October.
Marsh Farm Manor will feature en suite wet rooms, a hair and beauty salon, coffee area, lounges, quiet spaces, and private landscaped gardens.
Built for Halcyon Homes by LNT, the home has an Energy Performance Certificate A rating. Over 80 per cent of the roof is covered in solar panels and onsite battery stores retain any spare energy produced.
Not-for-profit provider Anchor exchanged contracts on Marsh Farm Manor in July last year, acquiring the home from Halcyon along with 10 other purpose-built residential care homes. The purchase brings the number of care homes in Anchor’s portfolio to 121.
Alison Bentley, director of care services at Anchor, said: “Marsh Farm Manor is a wonderful addition to our care home portfolio where residents will be able to enjoy luxurious facilities, beautiful surroundings and a warm and friendly environment.
“Built to an Energy Performance Certificate A rating standard and with a focus on generating renewable energy, Marsh Farm Manor is also a great example of our commitment to creating sustainable and energy efficient homes.
“As part of our Business Plan we are dedicated to creating more and better homes. Marsh Farm Manor is a clear example of this and we’re proud to be meeting the changing needs of residents while continuing to create places where they can love living in later life.”
