Deborah Sturdy OBE, chief nurse for adult social care, was guest of honour at the opening of a brand-new nursing community at Hallmark’s Hutton View care home.
Hutton View is owned by family-run provider Hallmark care homes. Deborah cut the ribbon at the Essex home in the company of 50 guests, who were invited to view the home’s state-of-the-art nursing facilities, which include 11 bedrooms with en suite bathrooms. She also met their three newly appointed nurses.
The afternoon event, attended by local businesses and care professionals, included speeches and a question-and-answer question with Deborah, who spoke about her current priorities.
Deborah Sturdy OBE said: “I was so pleased to open the new nursing wing at Hutton View and meet the dedicated nursing team, ready to deliver high quality, person-centred care. It’s peace of mind for residents and families to know they will be cared for in such lovely surroundings.”
General manager at Hutton View Louise Baxter commented: “I am delighted that our nursing community is now officially open! It’s important to our residents and their families that they live in a care home for life, which is why we have extended our care offering.
“I am excited to be able to lead the team here at Hutton View and support our nurses, who have been selected for their kindness, expertise and commitment to care, and ooze passion and enthusiasm.”
