The founding owner of Annabel House Nursing Home in Weston-super-Mare, Somerset, has sold the home to a local operator.
The 27-bed home is located in a residential area of the popular North Somerset coastal town of Weston-super-Mare, some 20 miles southwest of Bristol.
The home was founded in 1987 by Dr Martin Wyatt who also built and opened St George’s Nursing Home in the town, which he sold through Christie & Co in 2019. He recently decided to sell Annabel House in order to pursue his retirement.
Annabel House has been purchased by Rakhi and Pritesh Ruparelia, who own Ellenborough Residential and Nursing Home, also in Weston-super-Mare, which they purchased in early 2020.
Dr Martin Wyatt, former owner of Annabel House, said: “I would like to wish the new owners every success and happiness.”
Rakhi and Pritesh Ruparelia commented: "We are delighted to have acquired Annabel House, a business offering the highest standards of care. We look forward to continuing to make a difference in so many people’s lives and growing the business further.”
Simon Harvey, senior director – care at Christie & Co, who handled the sale, added: “As with many relatively new entrants to the market, Rakhi and Pritesh have developed an excellent understanding of it and the opportunities that exist and, as a result, have decided to grow with the acquisition of Annabel House.
“We are pleased to report that, whilst activity across the whole market remains strong, appetite for well-run homes in convenient locations with good reputations, such as Annabel House, remains positive. We wish Martin, Rakhi and Pritesh well with their future plans.”
