Brownscombe Care Residences in Haslemere, Surrey, is celebrating after being featured in Knight Frank’s Luxury Care Home Guide 2023.
Recently renovated, the home, operated by family-owned CHD Living, also made the shortlist of finalists for Knight Frank’s Renovation Award 2023.
Brownscombe is situated in an 1894 Edwardian country-house setting and boasts landscaped gardens with views overlooking the picturesque Nutcombe Valley. Bedrooms feature profiling beds, and many offer en-suite bathrooms and direct access to private patios.
Shaleeza Hasham, CHD Living’s head of hospitality, communications and commissioning, said: “We are immensely proud of the redevelopment at Brownscombe; it’s such an inviting space and an incredible place to provide much-needed care. The newly refurbished rooms surpass the current market standard, comprising fully accessible wet rooms, sensor lighting, electric profiling beds and individual green spaces – going above and beyond typical expectations of dementia care home settings in the UK.
“The refurbishment extends to the interior and exterior of the building and was done sympathetically to ensure that the original design was maintained and its authentic Victorian features were championed. Our experience of the pandemic also greatly influenced the improvements and residents’ families no longer have to walk through the home to visit their loved ones, as they can instead access residents’ rooms directly via outdoor spaces. Not only does this provide a very homely feel, but greatly minimises the risk of spreading infections.”
Registered manager Ali Packham added: “The renovation has been an amazing boost for residents and staff - it’s a beautiful environment in which to live and work. To make Knight Frank's Luxury Care Home Guide this year is incredible and really reflects the care and attention that went into crafting a welcoming and homely space for our residents.”
