The Macc Care Group is offering a warm space for the elderly to escape the cold and socialise this winter.
The Midlands care group, which operates a network of luxury care homes across the Midlands, is opening the doors of its thirteen homes to the community to offer a warm space and lunch every Wednesday throughout January and February.
From 11am-3pm, the homes are welcoming those seeking warmth, a hot drink, and something to eat during the colder months. Places are limited and allocated on a first come, first served basis; however, the homes will do their best to cater for anyone who is in need over the winter period.
Sharen Guise, director of operations for Macc Care, said: “For some, winter can be a cold and lonely period. We’d hate to see anyone suffer, so we’re urging anyone who might be alone and looking for a safe space to come and socialise and enjoy some lunch at one of our homes.
“Some elderly can go days without seeing anybody else, so welcoming them into a warm space gives them a chance to meet and chat with others in a similar position and our friendly and welcoming staff, who are extending their excellent level of care and compassion to the wider community.”
