Retirement living provider Housing 21 has been named Older People’s Landlord of the Year at the UK Housing Awards.
According to this year’s judging panel, Housing 21 has “raised the benchmark for older people’s housing.” The judges applauded its “digital solutions for residents, tenancy ‘gurus’, and proactive housing management to prevent homelessness.” The win marks the second time that the provider has won the award, having previously taken home the prize in 2020.
The judges singled out Housing 21’s tenancy gurus for praise. Under the initiative, Housing 21 provides on-site managers with the tools and training to act as advisors who can help residents sustain their tenancies. Last year alone, the scheme helped residents to save £700,000.
The awards, hosted by Inside Housing, are focused on celebrating achievements from across the UK housing sector. For the judging panel, experts were drawn from a wide range of organisations and institutions, including housing associations, local authorities, and government bodies from across the UK.
Housing 21 chief executive Bruce Moore said: “We are thrilled that Housing 21 has won the award for Best Older People’s Landlord of the Year. We are committed to providing an excellent standard of living and care for our residents, and this award is a testament to the hard work and dedication of everyone at Housing 21.”
