A husband and wife team have launched Nede, a new online care directory for care homes to promote what they offer, completely free of charge.
Nede is available for all care homes to use. From contact details, opening times, and an image gallery, to inspection grades, news, and reviews, the site is designed to help families and carers make a more informed choice. Homes are also encouraged to list job vacancies on the site – also free of charge.
Co-founders Nathan Davies-Pugh and Julia Haviland are no strangers to the struggle of finding excellent care for their loved ones.
Julia said: “Nathan and I are lucky to have a few business interests, so we decided to make nede.co.uk completely free for care homes. We know how much of a hit they took during the pandemic, and we want to give something meaningful back and offer all the support we can.
“We want those who run care homes to know how much we appreciate them, how they’ve not been forgotten. It’s been tough for these businesses and the people behind them who have not always had the support they so rightly deserve. We believe a free directory like Nede can make a real difference.”
Nathan adds: “We need the help and support of care home owners and managers. With that, we can become the UK’s leading care directory, offering care homes a completely free platform to promote the great work they do. We can also make paid advertising and expensive job adverts a distant memory for the care sector.
“As a team, we relate to the phrase Together We Are Stronger because the more support we get, the larger the website will become. And the more support we’ll generate for the sector!
“I’m often asked if the site is really free and when I say it is I’m usually met with a disbelieving, ‘nothing is free these days!’ But the site is completely free. There are no catches, no contracts and in just 10 minutes you can set up your page and start promoting what you do to new and existing families and carers.”
