Trewiston Lodge Nursing Home in Wadebridge, Cornwall, has been sold to a local, family-run care provider.
Trewiston Lodge is registered for 32 residents and occupies a detached property in a semi-rural position only a few miles from the North Cornish coast, Padstow, and Rock. Owned and operated by Cornish based operator Blakeshields Ltd since 2006, it has now been acquired by an experienced, family-run provider with four other homes in Plymouth and South East Cornwall.
Simon Harvey, senior director of care at Christie & Co, who handled the sale, said: “We are delighted to have been able to assist the Directors at Blakeshields Ltd in achieving a sale and to allow them to focus on their other Cornish care home. Trewiston Lodge will make an excellent addition to the buyer’s portfolio, and we wish them well for the future of this home and their other businesses.
“This is the second care home we have sold in Cornwall in as many months and, along with other ongoing activity generally, this is further evidence of the appetite that exists across the county and the wider region from a range of purchasers seeking to acquire care businesses in the South West.”
Blakeshields director Stephen Godfrey added: “As everyone knows, the sale process can be a long, drawn-out affair for a host of reasons. However, Simon Harvey of Christie & Co was always on hand to help iron out the wrinkles. We had a great legal team and, for once, our bankers played ball! Trewiston is a really friendly home, and we wish the buyers every success in this chapter of its journey.”
