Thornfields care home in Lymington, Hampshire has been sold to new market entrant, Emerald Care Providers Ltd.
In a sale facilitated by Christie & Co, the ‘Good’ rated home, which consists of a large, detached property with 13 bedrooms, was sold for an undisclosed price.
Having owned and operated Thornfields for the past 20 years, Freddy and Cindy Poordil decided to sell up and retire from the care sector.
According to Freddy Poordil: “We are sad to be finally leaving the care sector and selling Thornfields which has been our business for the last 20 years. It has been a pleasure working with the staff and looking after all the residents over this time and we wish the new owners great success in their new business. This is a lovely care home, and we are sure they will do well.”
Krish Selvaratnam, director at Emerald Care commented: “Thornfields is a well presented and homely property which, straight away, we thought was right for us. Lymington is a delightful town, and we look forward to getting to know the area and all of those who are involved with the care home.”
Christie & Co’s Charles Phillips added: “This is the second home that we have sold for Freddy and Cindy over the years, and it has been a pleasure acting for them again. This care home attracted a good level of interest with multiple offers having been received. We are pleased to have sold the home to Emerald Care Providers Ltd who are new entrants to the care sector and wish them all the best with their new business. The sale of this home demonstrates the demand for care homes in the South of all sizes and categories of care.”
