Safe Transfers: removing the obstacles

Safe transfer is crucial. It can help prevent at least some of the 0.5m falls in care homes every year – which is some 1,300 falls every day!1

I hasten to add that this is not intended as a criticism. The nature of the beast is that when you are caring for people who have reduced mobility and possibly reduced cognitive skills - and who have increased frailty - those people are inevitably more prone to fall

Safe transfer is about risk management – and that includes taking positive risks!
