Heatwave advice for care home residents as temperatures soar

With the Met Office issuing its first extreme heat-health alert warning, Will Donnelly, care expert and co-founder of Lottie, has warned of the risks for care home residents.

As some parts of the UK approach 40C, the heat poses a risk to the elderly, especially for those living with dementia.

Lottie’s new research has found that over the last seven days, Google searches have surged for advice on heat exhaustion and heatstroke:

“A heatwave can affect anyone,” says Will. “However, extreme heat brings greater health risks to those over 75.
