LINET wissner bosserhoff Air2Care offers pressure ulcer solution

With its 2-cell alternating pressure system, the Air2Care specialist mattress family by LINET wissner bosserhoff offers numerous advantages in the prevention of pressure ulcers.

The technology is suitable for use in all care facilities, including long-term care, residential, and nursing, as well as those facilities with complex care needs, as part of a targeted wound management strategy.

With a focus on providing greater skin protection, the system has an individual cell construction that uses self-sealing valves, allowing the cells to be individually deflated and enabling pressure to be removed from specific areas of a resident’s body to help minimize sustained pressure peaks. Air cells in the vulnerable heel section are 25 per cent smaller than the standard alternating air cells, giving added protection to this vulnerable area.

Using smart automatic detection, the mattress starts to increase air inflation when it detects that it has been raised by 30 degrees, preventing the resident from ‘bottoming out’ when sitting up.

Resident comfort and safety are prioritised with a wide choice of cycle times, allowing caregivers to select the right balance of intermittent pressure production and individual patient comfort. The mattress has a weight limit of 200kg and 250kg depending on the mattress width, making it a suitable choice for heavier residents.

Air2Care mattresses are easy to operate and feature the ‘Easy Smart’ automatic pressure function. They feature a plug and play user-friendly interface, and a static transport mode for up to 12 hours, should the mattress be needed during transport or any situation where the mattress is disconnected from the mains.

Offering critical support for long term care operations, the Air2Care mattress offering brings a combination of benefits, with infection control at the forefront of day-to-day workflows. The cell construction makes it possible to completely remove individual cells for cleaning and decontamination. Self-sealing valves help maintain pressure so the mattress stays inflated even if a cell is removed for cleaning or repair. Easy and cost-effective maintenance is achieved where individual cells are quick and easy to replace without disruption to the system.

The mattress cover itself is vapor-permeable and water-resistant which allows the skin to breathe. The zip is covered to prevent the ingress of dirt or fluids. The mattress cover has a 360° zipper which makes it easy to remove the cover for cleaning.
