In a deal brokered by Christie & Co, care home developer Aspire LPP has delivered a new development in Tenterden, Kent, to Barchester Healthcare.
Planning consent was given for the 64-bed home following a planning process involving Aspire, Barchester, and the local council. Aspire says the planned home will reflect ‘high-class contemporary design’ and meet the demands of the local area.
All 64 bedrooms will come with en suite wet rooms, and promised facilities include a hair salon, cinema, café, a rooftop bar with summer lounge, balconies, and a screened roof garden. The home will be situated near the A28 in easy access of the historic town of Tenterden, which lies on the eastern border of the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Michael Lucas, founder and managing director at Aspire LPP, said: “Aspire LPP is delighted to have delivered this Tenterden care home development site, working with Barchester Healthcare. This development represents one in a pipeline of care home developments which Aspire LPP is delivering to the market during 2022 and beyond. We are proud to play a significant role in providing a best-in-class new care home to the Tenterden community. Aspire LPP is again demonstrating its ability to work at local level with the community and key local stakeholders to achieve a successful planning outcome in the care sector.”
Julian Burgess, land buyer at Barchester Healthcare, added: “Barchester Healthcare are very pleased to be part of the successful planning application in Tenterden. We feel that we will be able to contribute hugely to the community with our proposed new care home. We are currently the largest developer/operator of new care homes in the UK and, as such, also provide many new jobs as well as much needed care for the elderly.”
