Calendula Group has acquired the 87-bed Bebington care home in the Wirral from Four Seasons Health Care with a view to a £1m programme of refurbishment.
Greenchurch Developments will carry out the works at the care home, which was rated as requiring improvement by the Care Quality Commission after its last inspection in October 2020.
Calendula said the aim of the works at the four-unit facility is to lift the reputation of the home and create a much-improved experience for residents.
“We are very proud to care for our residents who are living with dementia, and we are pushing to find new and innovative ways to make our homes dementia-friendly, this will be a core part of the refurbishment strategy,” it added.
Calendula co-director Philippa Williamson said: “The staff team are excited to see such an investment into the fabric of the building and we are liaising closely with the manager and staff so they have they feel fully involved in the colour schemes and re-branding.
“We have operational improvements to make as well but we know all our efforts will be worthwhile. Our aim being to offer five-star care in a luxurious, yet homely environment,” she added.
The value of the Bebington care home acquisition was undisclosed.
