Evermore Care Homes has kicked off construction of its £15m Astley View development in Chorley, Lancashire.
The 90-bed facility, which will open to residents in early 2023, will be the first new care home to be built in the town for over ten years.
Spanning three floors, Astley View will feature ensuite wet rooms with assisted-bathing facilities, light and airy open lounges and dining areas, with upper-floor terraces providing easy access to enjoy outside space.
The care home will also include a ‘market street’ with shops, a cinema, beauty salon, café and ice cream parlour.
Special design features will “bring the outside in”, said Evermore, with a galleried café opening onto a corridor of trees through to landscaped gardens.
The home will include the latest assistive technology, infection control laundry and high-specification assisted bathrooms, as well as wi-fi throughout, and TVs with internet access and video calling to help residents to stay in contact with loved ones remotely.
“We are delighted to have begun work on our new development in Chorley. Our ethos at Evermore is to deliver the highest standards of care, while providing a lively and stimulating place for our residents to call home, so I’m excited to see our incredible plans for Astley View get underway,” said Evermore director Syd Coombes.
“Every part of Astley View has been designed with our residents’ care needs and experience at the heart and I can’t wait to see it come together over the next 12 months,” he added.
Fortwell Capital has provided a £10.1m development loan for the new care home.
“Our goal is to develop eight more high quality care facilities in the next five years and we look forward to expanding our partnership with Fortwell as we actively seek to appraise and develop new sites that fit our stringent development criteria,” said Coombes.
