The Stronger Together Community Choir has won the Care Sector’s Got Talent 2021 gong awarded by the Championing Social Care charity.
Stronger Together Community Choir, whose members come from across the north of England, formed during the first lockdown, and met on Tuesday mornings on Zoom to perform their favourite songs.
The group is supported by north-west England social care provider Future Directions and led by its music and activities coordinator Kevin Phoenix.
Stronger Together Community Choir was one of ten shortlisted candidates that performed live in front of Championing Social Care’s judging panel.
Majesticare chief operating officer Angela Boxall and Championing Social Care founding patron said: “The final was spectacular, every single day we see how incredibly talented our sector is but this event provided everyone with the perfect opportunity to celebrate that and Sparkle for Social Care.
“The group truly ‘wowed’ judges with their incredibly catchy song but also they demonstrated exactly what both this event and the whole care sector is about, supporting each other as we are stronger together.”
Stronger Together Community Choir won a £500 of Love to Shop vouchers, which they will be using to bolster their activities over winter, plus six months access to Oomph! Wellness On-Demand, kindly donated by the Oomph! Wellness Team.
Kevin Phoenix and Stronger Together Community Choir will be performing at both the Care Show and the Leaders in Care Awards in Birmingham on 13 October.
