Specialist developer Castleoak has broken ground on a luxury 55-bed care home in Seaford, East Sussex to be owned and operated by Barchester Healthcare.
Due to open in late 2022, Port Manor will provide personalised residential, dementia and respite care for older people in Seaford and the surrounding areas.
The new home will feature a café, spa bathrooms, ensuite bedrooms with smart TVs, a choice of comfortable lounges, a dedicated activities room, cinema and in-house hair and beauty salon.
Castleoak said that once open, the home will provide a dedicated life-enrichment programme that includes a choice of daily activities "so that residents can continue to do the things they love, try something new and above all keep the enjoyment in every day".
Chefs will prepare home-cooked meals from seasonal menus, created with residents’ preferences in mind, it added.
“The physical spaces in which we live are proven to help us live longer, happier and more fulfilling lives, and Barchester will certainly provide that for future residents of Port Manor,” said Castleoak operations manager Steve Bradley (pictured, left).
“Place-making begins at the start of the build and will carry throughout as we maintain a safe and considerate environment and work to deliver a finish of the highest quality of which future residents can be truly proud. We’re pleased to be part of bringing this much-needed, health-enabling care home to East Sussex.”
The care home will have an on-site marketing suite that will open its doors to the local community and visitors next summer.
Barchester senior property development manager Andrew Williams (pictured, right) added: “We are really excited to get this project under way. Port Manor will be a fantastic addition to the local community.”
