Care home operator New Care has broken ground on a £15m, 63-bed facility in Wilmslow, Cheshire.
Slated for completion in August 2022, the project involves demolishing two four-bed houses and transforming the 1.14 acre plot into a residential, nursing, dementia and respite care services site.
New Care’s latest care home will be arranged over three floors, featuring furnished private bedrooms with ensuite wet rooms, communal lounges, dining rooms, spa-assisted bathrooms as well as a hair salon and nail bar.
A number of advanced care services have been incorporated into the build, such as acoustic monitoring and silent call bells, which will further enhance the level of care available.
The care facility will also enjoy landscaped gardens and grounds, as well as an outdoor terrace to the first floor.
Principal contractor, McGoff Construction - New Care’s sister company - is managing the build programme.
“The design of this care home is specific to this particular site, with the construction team working closely with New Care’s operational team to ensure the facility will work to the benefit of its residents,” said New Care commissioning director Dawn Collett (pictured, left, with McGoff Construction senior site manager Eddie Murphy).
“Work on site is going well and the foundations of the care facility are now in place. Over the course of the next 12 months the development will take shape and we look forward to bringing one of our award-winning care facilities to Wilmslow,” she added.
