Hallmark Care Homes Foundation is to donate £78,000 to the Care Workers’ Charity over the next three years.
The donation will fund the role of a mental health grants administration worker, who will be dedicated to the organisation and processing of applications to the charity’s mental health and support programme.
The programme includes up to ten counselling sessions and bespoke support to care workers over the next three years.
“The Care Workers’ Charity has been working hard to support our social care heroes, whose need has greatly increased since the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic,” said CWC chief executive Karolina Gerlich (pictured).
“Without external support, we would not be able to do this, so we are extremely grateful for the generous funding agreed by Hallmark Care Homes Foundation, which represents a continued collaboration between our two organisations, and whose shared values to support the social care sector will make a hugely positive impact on our work and the sector at large,” she added.
Hallmark Care Homes Foundation chairman Avnish Goyal said: “Care workers have been at the forefront of tackling the pandemic over the last sixteen months.
“The stress and added demands have inevitably come with a huge toll on mental health. Our support for the Care Workers’ Charity will enable more care workers to get the mental health support they need in a timely and appropriate way.”
