Healthcare technology providers Ascom and Person Centred Software have extended a joint contract to deliver mobile monitoring products to care homes until the end of 2022.
Under the extension, Ascom will provide over 12,000 units of its Myco 3 smartphone to care personnel across the 2,000 UK care homes that are using Person Centred Software’s products.
The initial partnership formed in June 2019 saw Ascom provide 7,800 smartphones to around 1,200 care homes in a £2.67m joint contract.
When equipped with Person Centred Software’s Mobile Care Monitoring system, the Ascom device allows staff to digitally plan, record and monitor the care of residents in near real-time.
The duo claims the technology saves carers up to an hour per day in performing paperwork and administration work.
“Our partnership with Ascom provides our customers with an incredibly low total cost of ownership for their handheld devices, and opens up the world of interoperability between all the systems in use in a care home,” said Person Centred Software co-founder and director Jonathan Papworth.
