Contractor Clegg Construction has completed the 64-bed Lonsdale Mews care home in Quorn in Leicestershire for provider Care UK.
The £6m development features en-suite bathrooms throughout while a section of the building has been future-proofed to accommodate specialist dementia care.
The care home also comprises a wide variety of facilities including a choice of themed living rooms and dining rooms, a hairdresser, cinema, library, and activity rooms.
The external landscaping offers a selection of seating areas and a gazebo that can be used for visitor events.
“The building combines the familiarity of domestic architecture with the benefits of a contemporary care home. From the landscaped gardens to the carefully thought out internal living spaces, the utmost care has been taken to ensure a welcoming, high standard of design, construction, and finish,” said Clegg Construction contracts manager Dave Swift.
“The home was built traditionally from load-bearing brickwork and masonry to the latest thermal and fire protection standards. The building also features combined heat and power mechanical plant, which addresses environmental sustainability with some of the latest technology. It’s a project we’re very proud to be part of,” he added.
The design for the care home was delivered KWL Architects and the project team included Aecom as project manager and Jackson Purdue Lever as structural engineers.
