Stepnell secures construction contract for £9.2m Bracknell home

Construction contractor Stepnell has won a contract to build a £9.2m care home in Berkshire for Bracknell Forest Council.

The Heathlands dementia care home in Bracknell is a two-stage scheme that will deliver the design and build of a 66-bed care unit.

Works have already commenced on site with the demolition of pre-existing care home that was closed in 2016.

The new, purpose-built facility is due for completion in November 2021.

Stepnell recently handed over the Little Health care home and reablement centre in Cadbury Heath in South Gloucestershire after a two-year build.

This £8.5m project for Brunelcare consists of a 64-bed care home and a 24-bed rehabilitation centre that houses dining areas, communal lounges, a hair and beauty salon, function room and shop, plus fitness and gym facilities.
