Health tech outfit Florence has launched a service to supply care homes with exclusive staff to fill rota gaps for a month or more.
Under the Florence Exclusive service, nurses and carers enter into a fixed-term or permanent contract with the care home, agreeing not to work with any other providers for the contracted period.
The exclusive arrangement complies with the terms of the government’s £600m Infection Control Fund, which states care homes must not employ staff who work at other care facilities.
To get access to Florence Exclusive, care homes and other social care facilities complete a short form outlining their staffing needs.
From there, Florence provides a selection of local candidates fitting the description provided, and a contract is drawn up by the care home for the successful candidate.
Rates are set by the home, and timesheets are managed through the Florence app.
Care providers must join Florence in order to access Florence Exclusive.
“Launching Florence Exclusive helps us continue to evolve to fit the needs of our care homes in the ever-changing landscape following Covid-19,” said Florence chief executive Charles Armitage.
“We’re extremely excited to connect our fantastic nurses and carers to fill rota gaps at care homes in a way that complies with the national effort to prevent infection spread, and allows care homes access to much-needed government funds,” he added.
