Octopus Real Estate has strengthened its care home fund management team with the appointment of Chris Wishart as director of origination.
Wishart (pictured) will take a leading role in Octopus Real Estate’s care home investment team, finding and delivering elderly and specialist care real estate acquisitions for its institutionally backed funds.
Octopus Real Estate’s care homes team currently manages a portfolio of 60 purpose-built homes, including nine properties under construction, with a total market value of over £750m.
Wishart joins from Savills, where he was a director in the healthcare practice from 2017. Prior to that he was a partner at Knight Frank, where he was instrumental in building healthcare consultancy team.
“Chris’s significant experience in the healthcare market speaks for itself, and we are delighted that he is joining us,” said Octopus Real Estate chief executive Benjamin Davis.
“Chris will add further strength to our market-leading care homes team as we continue to grow the portfolio and strive to enhance our offering to both investors and operators in a market that remains undersupplied,” he added.
Wishart said: “I look forward to finding new investment opportunities for the team and contributing to filling the gap that currently exists for those requiring care.”
