Developer Charterpoint Senior Living has submitted plans for a 76-bed residential care home at Thurnby in Leicestershire.
The scheme on Uppingham Road features a range of facilities over four floors, including communal lounge, dining and relaxation areas, cinema, and hair and nails studio, along with terraces and gardens.
The proposals have been submitted to Harborough District Council following consultation with local residents and Thurnby and Bushby Parish Council.
“The proposal is an attractive scheme which we believe would enhance the local area and provide high quality care home accommodation for the neighbouring community,” said Charterpoint director Giles Nursey.
In a related development, planners have paved the way for phase two of a residential scheme masterminded by Charterpoint in Lincolnshire.
Snape Properties began building the first 80 homes at Westfield Park, off Grimsby Road, Louth, in 2018.
The housebuilder has exercised an option to buy a further 40 plots now that East Midlands-based Charterpoint has received reserved matters planning permission for the latest 160 properties on the site, which will include a mix of houses and bungalows.
Planning permission has now been granted for a total of 240 homes on the site.
Meanwhile, a planning application for a care home has just been lodged with East Lindsey District Council for a separate plot adjacent to the residential land.
The plans for a two-storey, 66-bed care home have been presented by care home specialist LNT Care Developments.
