HC-One has celebrated a key milestone of construction of its first care home in the city of York, the 80-bed Mossdale Residence.
The care home operator has held a topping out event and naming ceremony with development partners Morgan Sindall Later Living and City of York Council.
Due to open in the autumn, Mossdale Residence will feature a dedicated cinema room, bar, hair and beauty salon, hobby and crafts room, and a range of lounge, dining and outdoor terrace spaces.
HC-One said it would bring a range of digital care tools to the home, including electronic care records that enable carers to spend more time supporting residents and enable a greater level of oversight, accountability and peace of mind for families.
“We strive to be the first-choice care provider for residents and colleagues in every community we serve,” said executive director John Ransford.
Mossdale Residence is the centrepiece of the Health and Wellbeing campus being developed on the old Burnholme Community College site in York.
The development was one of just nominees for the Project of the Year award at the recent Government Property Awards.
The development of Mossdale Residence is the first of a number of new partnerships HC-One has formed with local authorities.
HC-One’s new development division will be announcing further partnerships in due course, the company said.
