Bertinaley Care Limited, which owns and operates four care homes in Hamilton, Largs, Dundee and Surrey, providing residential care, nursing care and respite care for up to 68 residents, has entered administration.
The company entered administration on 11 September 2018 with the appointment of Tom MacLennan, Iain Fraser and Chris Stevens, partners at specialist business advisory firm FRP Advisory LLP, as joint administrators.
The joint administrators have appointed specialist care home manager and advisor Careport to ensure ongoing care for residents and the smooth running of the care homes during the administration process.
All five residents at the Helenslea House care home in Dundee are in the process of being moved to alternative accommodation and it is expected that the home will be closed in the coming days.
Tom MacLennan comments: “Unfortunately following a number of operational challenges and a decline in resident numbers, the company has suffered significant cashflow difficulties which could not be resolved, resulting in it entering into administration.
“The health and wellbeing of the residents is of the utmost importance, which is why we have acted quickly by appointing Careport to manage the homes throughout this process and ensure that residents receive the best care. Whilst it has sadly been necessary to close the Helenslea House home in Dundee, we would encourage anyone interested in acquiring any or all of the homes to get in touch with us ”
