To celebrate the national roll out of its new excursions service and launch its partnership with the National Care Forum (NCF) to promote innovation and excellence in activity provision, Oomph! will be offering £10,000 worth of resident trips to members at next week’s NCF Annual Conference as part of a very grand prize draw.
“Having experienced an Oomph! Out & About tour first hand, I am delighted that we are able to work in partnership with Oomph! to bring this experience to our wider membership. The opportunity to facilitate greater engagement between residents of homes and the wider community is rewarding for all, and this new initiative by Oomph! shows that they continue to have the appetite to innovate and influence the way in which activity provision is offered within the care sector,” says NCF executive director, Vic Rayner.
Oomph! Out & About brings regular, meaningful trips within reach of many more care services. For less than half the cost of running or hiring transport, Oomph! provides a fully equipped minibus, a local driver residents will love who risk assesses all destinations and leads the trips, and an app for measuring participation and engagement.
The service has been running successfully in the South East since it was previewed last year and will now be launching in the Midlands, North West and South West with regional groups such as WCS Care and local independents jumping on board in droves.
Christine Asbury, chief executive of WCS Care says: “Residents should do what they’ve always done – as well as try new opportunities should they wish – and staying connected to their local community plays an important part in that. With support from Oomph!, we’re able to enhance our existing approach to activities and offer even more trips that are tailored to people’s individual needs.”
