Work begins on Lichfield development site

Work has started on the development of a brand new 70 bed care home on Stafford Road in Lichfield, which will bring much-needed care services and job opportunities to the area.

The new home will be run by national care provider Barchester Healthcare when it opens in the summer of 2018. It will create around 100 jobs and provide high quality care services for older people and people living with dementia.

The project has been let to McGoff and Byrne Ltd as a full design and build contract, assisted by Harris Irwin Architects.

Mark Bennett, director of Property Services at Barchester Healthcare, says: “We are very excited about the construction of our new care home in Lichfield, which is in a beautiful setting.

“We hope this new care home will become an integral part of local life and we are working hard to ensure it offers the best possible setting for our future staff and residents.”

Declan McGoff, operations director at McGoff and Byrne, says: “We are delighted to be delivering this landmark design and build scheme for Barchester Healthcare and look forward to a long synergetic partnership with our valued client.”
