While assistive technology has rapidly developed in recent years, an exhibition and conference at the University of Cumbria that brought together industry and care providers heard how advances could hold the key to meeting the demand for better care in the future.
“The university is heavily interested in how health technologies are used in professional practice, through the Cumbrian Centre for Health Technologies (CaCHeT) and the Department of Health, Social Services and Public Safety,” says Professor Alison Marshall who leads CaCHeT and developed the event held at the university's Fusehill Street campus in Carlisle.
“With an ageing population and the opportunities which new technology offers, we thought it right to bring together all sides to discuss how collaborations may be forged.”
About 100 delegates from across the north attended the event. The presentations given by panelists are available to view at: http://www.cumbria.ac.uk/research/centres/cachet/cachet-projects/
