Former London care home to be refurbished

Specialist business property adviser, Christie & Co has brokered the letting of the former Dowe House care home in Blackheath, London on behalf of Merchant Taylors’ Consolidated Charities for the Infirm.

The care home has been let for 25 years to The Cinnamon Care Collection, an exclusive retirement operator with eight further homes across the Midlands and South of England. The home will undergo a £2m refurbishment and is set to reopen in 2017 providing 41 bedrooms.

Bernard Wynne, director at Christie & Co who handled the deal comments, "We were delighted to assist such a renowned establishment and charity in leasing this care home to an increasingly established premium care brand.

“Cinnamon recently refurbished Leah Lodge which is also near Blackheath Village, acquired through Christie & Co on a leasehold basis. They continue to demonstrate that following extensive refurbishment, existing care homes can deliver the highest quality environment and care.”
