A Meridian Healthcare home in Garforth, Leeds, has been recognised as one of the very best developments in care-related property, being shortlisted in the Pinders Healthcare Design Awards 2017.
Augustus Court, which opened in February 2016, will be judged along with another two care establishments, with the final awards recognising the very best developments in care-related property.
As part of the awards process, judges visited Augustus Court and were able to see the building’s extensive quality facilities; as well as talk to staff, residents and the home’s designers QuadrantABS Limited.
As congratulations for being shortlisted in the awards, Augustus Court was presented with a cheque for £500 for its chosen charity, HC-One Charitable Foundation. The HC-One Foundation seeks to partner with well-established, non-profit organisations and co-fund projects that address key issues facing older people.
Kelly Greensmith, Meridian Healthcare’s assistant director, comments: “Augustus Court is one of our premiere collection of care homes and enables our residents to receive high quality care within luxurious surroundings.
“The home is stylish and elegant and was designed to be tailored to the needs of residents, so we are really pleased that we have been recognised and shortlisted for this award.”
QuadrantABS Limited, Augustus Court’s designers, added: “We are delighted to secure our fifth consecutive shortlist.”
Architectural standards and innovation will be key factors in the awards, but judges will also recognise the important contribution made by the owners of care homes, as well as the quality of all design.
