Care home design and development specialist NorthStar has delivered a stunning new care home in the heart of Norwich for regional operator Castlemeadow Care. This is the third collaboration for the two companies in as many years.
The location of the new home in leafy Heigham Road in the heart of Norwich’s ‘Golden Triangle’ demanded the highest quality of design and internal finishes. Working with interior design specialists Bernard Interiors, Northstar embraced the challenges of working to the constraints of the Conservation Area setting and delivered a building that sits comfortably among the listed buildings it has as its new neighbours.
The home incorporates 60 large, en-suite bedrooms, several restaurants, a bistro style cafe, hair salon, cinema / theatre, dedicated dementia suite, landscaped gardens and provides residential and dementia care services.
Castlemeadow Care’s managing director Doctor Sanjay Kaushal says: “Castlemeadow Care is driven by pushing established boundaries in the general health care market with innovation and creativity being at the very heart of its ethos, to deliver the highest quality in care. This quality of this new home reflects the quality of care we provide to our residents.”
Danny Sharpe of NorthStar says: “We believe in creating design solutions to fit particular individual circumstances. The choice of materials, the building style vernacular and the attention to local detail, all combine to achieve the seemingly competing aims of making this building both grand but also homely. The unique setting of this location with its listed building neighbours, Conservation Area status and protected tree-lined drive demanded a building with presence and we certainly feel we have achieved that.”
