LNT Care Developments has received planning permission to build a 60 bed care home on the site of the former Red Lion Hotel in Nantwich.
Cheshire East Borough Council approved the planning application on 4 January 2017 for the care home. The facility will provide residential and dementia care for those aged over 65 years.
Construction is due to start in June 2017 with a predicted completion date for May 2018. Once complete, the home will be a strong community facility, integrating with the nearby local facilities of shops, churches and schools. It will provide outstanding accommodation with fully en-suite bedrooms, spacious communal areas, and state-of-the-art amenities including a cinema, library, garden room and tea shop, all surrounded by beautifully landscaped gardens.
The home is designed to best enable the delivery of quality care and provide a positive lifestyle choice for local people who may be frail, elderly or living with dementia. Christine Cooper, project director at LNT Care Developments, says: “We are delighted to be building such a fantastic care home. It is also great news for Nantwich creating 50 jobs in the local area and providing a high quality resource for elderly people in the local community. The facility will incorporate intelligent dementia design and be eco-friendly by benefitting from ground source heat pumps, solar thermal panels and LED lighting keeping utility costs low.”
