An unexpected visitor, who flew into the community and landed in the garden of a care home in Garforth, treated staff and residents to tasty, festive goodies from local Dumouchel Patisserie.
Meridian Healthcare’s Augustus Court was one of the few in the community to be part of the WeFlyAnyDrone.Com Christmas delivery, gifting those working over the Christmas period with festive food treats.
The drone also landed swiftly at St Benedicts RC Church and West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue, where individuals were equally surprised by the flying visit.
Each special delivery was filmed and can be viewed on WeFlyAnyDrone.Com’s Facebook page at www.facebook.com/WeFlyAnyDrone
Augustus Court’s home administrator, Kim Morris, comments: “This was such a lovely gesture and we were really pleased to be a part of this community delivery. Many of our residents at Augustus Court have never seen a drone before, especially one that delivers gifts!”
Nicholas Drye of WeFlyAnyDrone.Com, adds: “We wanted to do something for the community that was fun and everyone involved really enjoyed the experience. We also wanted to promote the safe use of drones as we expect many will be purchased as gifts at Christmas time.”
Run by award-winning Meridian Healthcare, Augustus Court is located in the area of Church Gardens in Garforth.
