Luxury care community opens doors

Latimer Lodge, on Preston Road, has undergone a £450,000 renovation to transform it into a five-star hotel-style care home.

The opening of Latimer Lodge marks the completion of the first phase of the wider Yeovil Care Community, which will be completed next year.

The local community are now being given the chance to see the remarkable renovation of Latimer Lodge for themselves with a series of weekly open days every Wednesday until Christmas.

Modelled on a five-star hotel, Latimer Lodge offers high quality care in a truly luxury environment – and with a Bentley on standby for day trips and visits to the shops!

Home manager Kelly Mitchell is delighted to be welcoming the first residents to Latimer Lodge. She says: “I think when people see inside the building for the first time they will be amazed by the transformation. Yes, this is a care home but it has the look and feel of a beautiful boutique hotel.

“There are just 13 rooms in Latimer Lodge, which adds to that truly homely feel. We’ve already had a lot of interest and I look forward to welcoming our first residents in the coming weeks.

“We’re running community open days every Wednesday for the next couple of months so please pop down for a look, I’d love to give you a tour.”

The home will offer both long-term and short-term (respite) packages and the reservation list is now open.

Unlike normal care homes residents at Latimer Lodge will have the opportunity to buy their care studio giving them the chance to downsize from a larger house whilst maintaining the financial stability of owning a property.

The luxury Care Community will feature room service, concierge service, fine dining, a hair and beauty salon and a chauffeur-driven Bentley on standby.

Latimer Lodge at Yeovil Care Community will feature 13 luxury en-suite care studios, it will be shortly followed by the refurbishment of the adjacent Tyndale building, which will feature a further 24+ en-suite care studios.
