On the eve of Care England’s national conference Professor Martin Green, chief executive of Care England, has called upon the Government to put social care at the heart of its agenda.
At a recent meeting with David Mowat MP, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Community Health and Care, Martin Green highlighted the shortfall in funding for adult social care and the fragile state of the sector.
Anticipating Care England’s conference Martin Green says: “Building on successes from previous years, this conference has a first rate line-up of stimulating speakers.
"We aim to empower delegates to leave the conference encouraged and inspired with new ideas on how best to address the daily challenges of dealing with some of society’s most challenged citizens.
"The plenary session will focus on mental health; a topic of relevance to all care providers involved in the support of people with conditions such as dementia, learning disabilities and brain injuries”.
Martin continues: “My recent meeting with the Care Minister has brought to light the tensions in the sector and the importance of good quality commissioning and integration of services.”
Mind Matters will take place on Wednesday 16 November in London.
