Show a success for Gainsborough bathing specialist

Gainsborough Specialist Bathing, a supplier of assistive baths, achieved healthy enquiries and orders for its new product range at the Care & Dementia Show, which took place at the NEC last week.

Gainsborough has supplied trusted and proven powered baths to hospitals and the long term care sector for over 30 years. Its comprehensive range of baths with height adjustment, bather transfer systems and specialist design features deliver unsurpassed care, safety and dignity to disabled bathers. Risk is also reduced for carers as they are able to minimize moving and handling challenges and operate at a safe working height without the risk of back or muscle injury.

Gainsborough unveiled its complete new bath range at the Care & Dementia Show this year. This portfolio now provides the widest range of solutions available so that future care challenges can be met in the long term and acute sectors.

The new hi-lo Gentona with streamlined bather transfer system generated particular interest among healthcare providers. The bath delivers higher performance, lower running costs and greater care efficiency through a range of innovative features. Its new bather transfer system comprises of a powered, detachable seat that lifts, rotates and lowers a semi-ambulant bather into the bath and is compatible with a new stainless trolley for onward transfers. This can negate the need for costly ceiling track and mobile hoists in many care environments. Feedback was positive from show visitors who stated this latest design provided better ergonomics for the bather and carer – with the detachable seat engagement mechanism being particularly impressive.

The new Sentes was also successfully displayed on stand D10 and generated a very positive response. It provides an ultra-efficient, reclining bathing system suitable for acute wards and nursing homes. Through its sculpted seat and tilting action it can accommodate a variety of different users who require additional postural support when bathing.

Gordon Farmiloe, managing director, Gainsborough Specialist Bathing, comments: “The 2016 Care & Dementia Show has been a success on many levels for our customers and our business as a whole. Gainsborough Specialist Bathing continues to drive innovation within the assisted bathing sector with a view to safeguarding future care. As care establishments are put under increasing economic pressure, in terms of economics and service delivery, specifiers of our bathing solutions can rest assured they will help to deliver utmost performance and enhanced sustainability.”
